Thanks, Tom...that`s good to know...I assumed the 901 straw barrel was tight fitting in the shroud....PHIL
Wonder why David S. Has not chimed in on this? Seems like the type of thread that he would share his experience and opinions in.
This is a .22 conversion 880 pic, but the same applies. A mid barrel support can be as simple as this

Sometimes it's not even about the scratch. I got a nice little package in the mail a couple days ago and all I have to do is install it in my 880. It may also be a mental thing... I keep telling myself... "you are NOT a Daisy guy, you are NOT a Daisy guy". Don't tell anyone.. I love this gun. The metal/metal construction with the lead shot in the stock, taping the barrel and removing the flat spring transformed this thing to a whole different level. I'm looking forward to filling the piston slot with JB and changing out the o-ring. The great thing is, it's all reversible. I do have some minor side to side wiggle in the stock that I will look into as well. I will be off work Wed - Mon next week. I should start making a list of things to do. We all know how that works out don't we? I'll have my list and Betty Lou will have her's.
I havn't been in deep enough to know. If I had to guess, knowing the history of this gun, it has not been mugged. Did you say BRASS? Oh My Goodness!! Somebody make me some walnut furniture !!!! lolIt's not like it's low on power and needs anything at all.. it's just weird that pumps 8 - 10 don't make sweat come out of everywhere like Crosmans and Dans do.

If I ever get some time, probably after Christmas, I'll try to make furniture for various 880 styles. My guess is it has not been touched internally.
