Before you bend the barrel, are you adjusting the scope turrets in the way of the direction the pellets are hitting? For example if you are hitting low and to the left and then you adjust your elevation down and your windage to the left, then you are just going to be adjusting your pellet's impact lower and farther to the left. So if you are adjusting the turrets towards the direction of where your pellet's are impacting, STOP. Adjust the scope turrets the opposite direction of where your pellet's are impacting. So if they're hitting low and to the left, adjust your elevation turret up and your windage turret to the right.

Usually 100 or 50 yds. If so, you will be way off at 12 yds. How far off will depend on your eye placement. I had the same issue with my Simmons 4X which is factory set for 100 yds. I was able to adjust it to 8-10 yds.

I was under the impression you were to move the scopes' reticle to match your POI. So assuming the gun was clamped and I fired a shot that was low and left, you would adjust the scope so the crosshairs lined up with the POI, so you would adjust low and left...
