I'm curious as a Canadian Forces member. Why in the states, not many people do long terms of service? I often see people do 2 to 4 years and then get out. Most in the CF, will do 20 years of service, unless they were medically released. I know for us, gotta do at least 10 years to get a service pension.

And in the long run I knew my retirement, while not as early, would be far better (which I'm living now). I also witnessed too many broken marriages during my 4 years in the USN, I knew I would want to settle down and have a family life (married 40 years now to the same lady, 3 good sons with wives, and 5 crazy fun g'kids).
