I have owned 8 springers and sold all of them. They were loud, rough and innaccurate yet I kept buying hoping to find a decent one.The last 4 springers have al been Diana 34 (.177), Diana 48/460/54 in .22.The higher end Diana were much better than the previous 4 cheaper springers.Unfortunately a springer is a springer, an antique technology that seems to be favored by air gunners who started with them.I will soon have a post related to this, hopefully no more new air gunners will be deceived by what a springer is and what it can do.
Speaking of feather rustling.... here ya go.The Walmart staple plastic fantastic Daisy 880. Arguably the best piece of cheap junk on the market. The toy that grown ups just can't resist. There, I said it... let the rebuttals commence.
Springers have dominated the airgun world for 100+ years. For the past several years the number of springers sold and airgunners buying them has been shrinking. That must mean that other people must have decided that there are better options.

I have never owned a PCP, but I have shot a few at the fun shoots. As much fun as they are, and as easy as accuracy is to achieve, I can truthfully say I have not once been tempted to buy one.
After the 8 springers I have owned I have decided that I am done with them.I have opened up and lubed, changed seals, etc the last Diana springers I have owned, so I have an uderstanding on how they work and their limits.I know that it takes practice to be reasonably accurate with them.I have never been as accurate with a springer as I was with multipumps. CO2 or PCP rifles. And that applies to most shooters. The springer loudness cannot be avoided, but may be very very slightly improved by tuning or using moderators (do not help too much on springers). The springer roughness can be slightly improved by tuning (vibration can be reduced somewhat, the recoil is still there).Accuracy with a springer requires lots of practice and perfect shooting position. Most times I am shooting standing or from various shooting positions.Being able to always hold the springer in perfectly the same way is a bit too hard.Springers have dominated the airgun world for 100+ years. For the past several years the number of springers sold and airgunners buying them has been shrinking. That must mean that other people must have decided that there are better options.
