Check with local fire companies including volunteer ones. Many have their own high pressure systems for filling bottles and may help you out. You might also poke around and see if you have any companies nearby that sell and service fire trucks and equipment. They usually have their own systems to fill bottles for fire companies and do hydrotesting should you need it. It's how I finally managed to get my own tank serviced and filled and they happily service the local paint paintballers and offer while you wait tank fills.
Great suggestion! The last small town we lived in the FD wouldn't fill it, but I'll check this towns and look into the other options you mentioned.
FD here won't fill it. i'm still waiting for an answer from the dive shops provided. i'll have to order another hand pump as mine is in the back of the storage in illinios. now if i can only find those 300 .177 slugs i just got 2 weeks ago...
Carl - it's important you follow the man rules! When your wife says, "get a compressor and be done with it", you are bound by marriage covenant to do so!! She obviously trusted you to make a wise purchase, so discussion of cost isn't necessary. These opportunities don't come around often!
So true. However, i found a 27' sailboat that would be perfect for us and she told me to buy that also. I'm researching compressors before i buy

Sometimes the annual cost of the berth exceeds the cost of the boat.Hunter
