Per my above comments,.. 18 days left of 30 days. 6 GB (used) of 30 GB. Refreshes to 30 GB at the end of 30 days. I have maybe watched 6 hours total of You Tube stuff. I do not stream stuff, down load movies, etc., etc.. The device displays the data used status at all times. No other people on it, just me. At any rate, so far so good. 1000% better than what I was dealing with.Yet still,... Century Link still wanted their money every month. times 100! Total ripoff.

One of the selections is data saver and the quality is still good.
In the woods of lower Alabama. They ran fiber optics a couple years ago. No limits.
Lots of good comments. What I have is very usable, but probably not adequate for a house full of people all on at once (heavy use). I passed along my experience to help anyone that was in my situation as I think it is common in many rural areas with land lines. A hot spot may not be the be all/end all, but it is a multitude better than what I had.A neighbor has Hughes Net. He is not too impressed. I guess satellite, like through Dish or Direct, is not very good either. I am not very tech. savvy, but in my research on options, this problem has been well predicted for more than 20 years with more and more people and devices piling on the webs capabilities.Another fun fact,...governments, large companies and universities can buy and hold huge blocks of band width?,..even if they do not need it or will ever use it. If released, it would help alleviate the bottle neck.Oh well,... just sorry that I did not do something sooner.

I have either cable internet or dish/direct-universe here available to me and as stated before if it is a AT&T affiliated service its not coming in my house. Yes its fast and does not go out in bad weather but they jacked us up on phone bill years ago and would not make it right so shame on them cause they lost my business for life. I am just hard headed that way and there are many companies I do not do business with anymore to this day for the same reasons. My cable internet is fast and excellent service free of charge so no complaints in 25 years. cannot get Hughes.ner or spectrum or any other cable provider here since it is locked up by cableone/sparklight/hargray.BD
Only option I have where I live is using my phone as a hot spot. I'll be long dead and rotted away in the ground before anything like fiber or even just plain old copper cable is ever offered where I'm at. I could go with Hughs net but have heard the same thing others have heard and that is it's unreliable and slow. By the way buldawg76, I've got dish and the only time it's gone out is when there was few inches of snow sitting on the dish. Rain storms don't seem to affect it.
