How often do you clean your air rifles, I am new to Air Rifles and was wondering how many rounds down the barrel before cleaning, and what do you use to clean with
Thanks Copdills

I will give any air rifle (new or used) a barrel cleaning with Hoppe's Number Nine or Ballistol. Either seems to remove all the filth quite well. I just dampen a patch and pull it through. I follow with several dry patches. After the initial cleaning you may find you need to run a dry patch or two every couple tins of pellets if accuracy starts to drop off. Of course if accuracy is not dropping there's no need to clean further.

I clean the bore when new inspect, polish etc. if needed, then only really wipe them down with gun oil on the external areas, 2-3 times a year. Having over 75 air rifles can be a bit of a chore

Always clean a new bore before shooting it then only when accuracy seems to change. I use a Patch Worm pull through kit.

Clean a new barrel, brand new or just new to me, with Ballistisol or #9, then it depends on the barrel and ammo. On some every few hundred and on some ?. Depending on your equipment and skill level, you can cause more harm than good while cleaning. The pull throughs are probably the best to start with and Ballistisol.

Only
clean barrel when accuracy falls off. I use Ballistol to clean the barrel & wipe down all metal & wood. Finish off the bore with FP-10.
