need help on prod leaking

help, my prod is leaking . Over a short period time ( few days/week) it has leaked from fill 2800psi to around 1200psi and doesn't seem leak any more after hitting the 1200 mark.
I have checked for leaks and cannot narrow it down . have removed the fill valve , not clogged
and changed the o ring ( possible leaking areas) . removed the gauge just in case it might have developed a leak. getting ready to order a new one, just in case its no good.
looked at the EVP and came across a part I don't remember being there.
Part # 39 is a spacer. not sure if mine had one or not, from having it apart before. that part is unknown so need input if that part is on other prods or not and if it's needed or not.
I plan on taking it down again (replace all o rings) once the new air gauge comes in. hopefully I won't need to, as have had a bad air gauge before.
so hopefully any help as to something I haven't thought of would be very help full.
TIA

Mine was leaking similarly to yours a few months ago. I replaced all the orings and was still having the same leaking issue. Turned out to be the oring on the check valve (37c) within the fill assembly. I ordered a new fill assembly from Crossman and that solved the problem.
A good way to test is to pump up to 3000pas and submerge the fill nipple under water and look for bubbles.

could you slip a ballon or plastic bag over the fill assembly?

something like that will work too. There is also gas leak detector that will not corrode gun parts like some soapy water may do, available at local hardware, for the harder to find leaks.

2 small balloons and couple of rubber bands. One over the fill nipple and one over the end of the barrel. That will tell you of the leak is from the valve or the fill assembly. I learned that from someone smarter than me.
