New 392s - 397s actually have the same valve as the previous versions - I have both and have done mini valve mods on both. The tube / barrel assembly is also exactly the same - only difference new to old is stock.Forearm in new is longer ( but metal lever is the same length )I have switched stocks of new synthetic and older wood - even same spacing of holes in forearm.( I switched because I had a Baker mount on the wood and wanted to put a peep sight on it - use the mount on the Synthetic stock )( the Baker mount grub screws had marred the top of the receiver - so I switched stocks )
If I may chime in here, thanks to the thoughts of good folks here and the encouragement, I've decided to order myself a 392S. Hopefully, as soon as tomorrow morning. I'll also order a Baker mount. It's good to hear the large number of positive things air gun enthusiasts have to say about the 392S. My plan is to have a nicely scoped 392S and my slimmed stock aperture rear sighted 392PA. Looking forward to adding the 392S to my modest little collection.Pesting in my back yard, and this fall hoping to do some squirrel hunting on a friends farm. Good things wished for all here. Don

Don Funny how self-actuating enabling happens; wil innocently posts his thoughts about his new 392S and next thing ya know at least three of us (incl. Paul/Rat Sniper) all go and order one. That's not counting the lurkers either... Actually I was kinda fearing their discontinuation if the new 362 takes off in October.
I just ordered the lowest scout rings I could find, trying to keep the scope as low to the bore to it is not as big as a object to get hit or in the way of something. The rings I have on it now I believe are medium, low are much better. They are B-Square low 22 cal rings on eBay.Man alive I have become a posting fool the past few days:-)wll
