Off Season 10M Casual Match #1 Year 20/21
« on: November 15, 2020, 07:10:31 PM »
Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
Come one, come all... Casual Match #1 of 2020/2021 is open for business.!!!

The Casual Match is a fun match. Shoot whatever you want at 10M (more or less depending on what you have available), use any position or rest that you prefer. See below for the details.

Rules are the same as for the 50í Casual Match, except distance is 10M instead of 50í, using the 50í target of choice.  If you are  limited to distance, shoot at whatever distance you have available. Classes are PCP Rifle (includes any rifle except spring or nitro pistons), Jumper (Piston Rifle, spring or gas), and Pistol. One entry may be made in each class.

The match to run 2 weeks, through Sunday, 11/29/2020.

The 50í rules and targets may be found at:

http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=114644.0

Please include the following information with your entry:

Call name or real name
PCP, Jumper or Pistol Class
Air rifle or Pistol used
Sighting system
Pellet and caliber
Shooting position and/or aid(s)
Score
Pic of the target shot please

And as Jim always said...Shoot straight and be safe!
We're all in the same boat, why're you trying to make holes?

Me too Craig. It is easy for me to fall down but have not found a way to fall up. So prone is a thing of the past. Great shooting Kevin.

There is no novice shooters. Some of us have low scores sometimes and that is not a low score. looks good to me. Don

Awesome Kurt!
Nice entry... that is the fun of off season. Getting new match shooters involved.
You will have your ups and downs, we all do... but there is absolutely NO PRESSURE (maybe some ribbing) except in your own desire to improve.
I am just grateful to be able to shoot in the winter!!!

Thanks,
I had a scope failure on the 95, white powder in the objective lens, so the 2x7 I used was freshly taken off my HW30 and pressed into service.

Now I have to tell my wife that I need to buy a new scope during the Christmas black out period. ::)

The 30 just received  peep sight, but those black targets are hard for me to see the dot from my bench.
Iíll have a go at them offhand, thatís more like area fire.

I suggest this target then...  2 shots per bull.
Cancel out your worst one two. ;)

Opening shot, x, follow up with heartbreak. Ok, I regain my composure, X!
See, I am that good!
Aaaand then choke the next one out just to torment myself further.

The fun part about open sights in bad lighting is I only worry about sight picture. Where with a scope on this 30 or my 95, I worry about this hand, that hand, cheek weld, double cheek weld, finished of with making a certain face on a certain day.

With the peep on the 30 itís like that whole world of requirements is gone. All I do is concentrate on the sight picture, which is blurry, and let that shot go like I did go when I was a kid.

This is my fourth sheet of the morning. The others contained some shooting that surprised me as I get use to the peep, but as was this sheet, they were ruined by some lapses in concentration.

Open sight, William & Lolly
