Is the Air Hawk a clone of another rifle?

Sounds like you got another good one, Dan. Curious about the scope though. I still have the Umarex 3-9x32 that came on my Fuel, it's taken a beating on 6 rifles all during break in (none had open sights) and still holds a zero just fine.

Yes, it is a cousin to the Xs-25, a .177 clone of the D34. As far as the scope, it comes with a fixed power 4x32 with a Duplex reticle and flimsy mounts. I prefer Mil•dot reticles it helps tremendously for holdovers shooting at longer distances. I will put that scope to good use, I use those tiny 4x32 scopes on my P1377 and P1322 pistols. (Using the shoulder stock of course because of the short eye relief.)

Exactly Michael, I too have a Ruger Airhawk Elite II and it's completely different from the Elite II. My Ruger Airhawk Elite II refurb is actually a very accurate rifle. (To refresh your memory Michael, that's the first trigger modification you helped me with. ) My RAHE2 refurb came from Sportsman's Guide for $55. It had a horrible trigger but other than that it was good to go.This Air Hawk had a loud cocking cycle to begin with but after only 50 pellets or so it has smoothed out considerably. The trigger is great right out if the box and I don't have any plans to adjust it. You know how picky I am with my triggers. I have only tried 4 different pellets and with the Crosman Hollow Points showing such promise already I very confident that this will be a very accurate rifle. At this point, other than lube I have no plans to "tune" this rifle. I will get some chrony data in the next few days.
Thanks for the suggestions, I do order from Crosman. I usually get 3 or 4 boxes of the 10.5gr Domed when I order. I have about 3k left I think from my last order. Our two have some similarities but also some differences. Mine is NOT hold sensitive, which surprised me, I have a fully tuned XS-25 in .22 cal (see signature) and it's definitely hold sensitive. Mine was very twangy the first few hundred pellets but has calmed. Just for giggles I adjusted the trigger some but then moved it back to where it was when it came. I'm super pleased with the trigger. I too had an unusual number of detonations before it finally burned the oil out. I have some pellets ordered and they will arrive today or tomorrow but I'm also experiencing a delay right now in shooting. Tooth issues in a pandemic seriously not so good !!!!! I'm on day 4 after a bad abscessed tooth and the extraction of said demon. Last Monday I did some chrony test with 5 or 6 pellets, I have had time to type up the data but it is a 14.3 fp rifle. Shooting a lot I believe started or brought forward my abscess. Tuesday bad tooth ache, Wednesday saw dentist, then on Thursday extraction. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be back shooting.
