i sent some of the poppets out and included instructions to "burnish". But one guy got real creative with his way of burnishing so i thought i would add it to this post. here is the copy and paste of his message. But, just burnished your poppet with the valve still in the rifle using the oem poppet and spring loaded into my drill with your poppet in the valve. 15- Private Messages (pm) are just that, PRIVATE. Ed, after many unsuccessful attempts to remove the hammer by taking apart the side lever action so I could get to the valve, I had to find a way to burnish Duy's poppet with the valve still in the rifle. First, I removed the oem poppet with the spring still in it. Then, chucked the rod into my hand drill and attached Duy's poppet to the other side of the spring, inserted Duy's poppet into the valve and burnished it. I used light to moderate pressure and made sure to keep the drill level with the valve block. Rotated between forward and reverse on the drill 5 seconds each way. After about 7 passes, I removed and looked to see some burnishing on the PEEK. Did another 6 or 7 passes and it was done. Be careful if any wobbling starts to occur cuz it could damage the brass rod sleeve. It worked great on both poppets Duy made me. After several weeks and hundreds of rounds, absolutely no air leaks.Hope that helps,Steve
