yep, I live in Columbiana, Shelby county. I shoot a modified .177 1377 carbine, a modified 1322, and a modified .22 2240, been thinking about a .22 springer rifle
-
I Live in Toney (Madison Co) and shoot with the Good Old Boys and the Invicta clubs from Tennessee. Favorite rifle is the Benjamin Marauder, and my favorite pistols are the 1377/1322 pumpers.
-
I also in shelby co just outside of Columbiana, al, I live on 49, 1.5 miles from highway 25. I shoot a Benjamin Xl 1100 in 22 cal. Does anyone around here have a chrony?
-
Thinking abou getting some shooters together this weekend in columbiana area. Anyone want in? I can't really “host" more that having a table, full scba bottle and at lt least 100 yards of fresh cut hay feild you can use. The only file I've got running right now Is my 25 cal mrod, but you can bring your own guns and ammo. Wife and kids will be out of town Saturday and I'm 50% sure I don't have to work. I'll try and look through my notes and contact people I've talked with in the area since no one every reads this thread anymore. Let me know.
-
Yep, I'm in Goshen. A little town of about 300 between Troy and Luverne bout 40 miles south of Montgomery. I got a sister down in Bay Minette. They are on their 4th AG in a month. I'm an able enabler. (wink)
-

Hei Erevojoe,
I'll be moving to Birmingham, Shelby, close to Summit Mall. I have one if you still need it. I'm in NC right now, but I'll be back after Christmas. I'm looking for Air Gun Clubs and places to shoot/hunt... I'm not awarded of AL laws for air gun.
Anyone..?

Thanks, we need to get together some time and I can pick your brain. After retiring from the Military, I am starting my airgun hobby that I have been thinking about for a very long time.
-
Be happy to share what I know. I started in May of last year but, I rolled my sleeves up and jumped right in.

Hey Bill, I just got started and am trying to learn. I want to be able to take my guns apart, lube them correctly and install springs etc if needed. I sure would like to learn to make a spring compressor. I have seen instructions online but I am definitely not the mechanical building type. Somehow I missed those skills along the way. Thanks
-
I'm in the north (Harvest). I'm sort of new to airguns, at least adult airguns. I had several growing up, but they got stolen. My replacement was an 880, which I've had since the 70's, and I've never really shot it seriously. And currently, it's not functional, but I plan on fixing that. Given the cost of ammo, and the additional shooting opportunities afforded by airguns, I plan to get (back?) into them.

That is exactly why I am getting back into airguns myself. Much more fun when I can shoot in the house while watching sports

Bill, have you made a spring compressor?
-
Yes, There is a thread on spring compressors and some info in the library as well.

I'm in Oxford AL that's east central AL just 20 miles east of Talladega super speedway. I used to work for Harley at the Talladega Test Facility Also known as TTF I was a research and development durability mechanic. loved that job till Harley packed up and moved to Arizona in 09. I been around the speedway on a motorcycle so many times that it almost lost the fun factor ( almost) it is quite a thrill to ride a Harley around the 33 degree high bank at 2 o clock in the morning with nothing but your headlight to see with and the banking comes up real quick. you have to be going over 70 mph to just start to lean the bike over, on a bagger at anything below 30 mph you would be dragging the right floorboard and muffler on the asphalt. love to tinker and mod my air guns
1968 Crosman 1400 .22 cal with 24 inch disco barrel and modded valve, trigger, bolt assy My first pellet gun at 12 years old.
Crosman 2289 backpacker with 18 inch barrel, modded valve, trigger, bolt assy
Crosman 760 modded for my grandson with early rifled barrel, valve, trigger,
Daisy Avanti 853 CMP cadet rifle.

Welcome neighbors.

Hey all, I'm in Birmingham , have a couple of springers. I went to Heflin's airgun range last week and had a blast even though I was there by myself. To anyone within driving range its's a cool place to shoot.

I might have to check it out next time I'm in the area. Is there an airgun shop onsite or nearby?
-
I'm not from around there but I doubt it, it's a state or county park with little around it , still I found it worth the drive to have a covered area , tables and metal targets to shoot at. It's about half way to Atlanta from me, others may know of possible shops. They hold field target shooting competitions across the street in the woods.I have not been to one yet but I did check out the targets and don't think I would have much luck with my rifles and poor shooting. How about Huntsville , I lived up there for about a year but can't recall anywhere that carried much for air guns.
-
Nope, nothing in Huntsville as far as airgun specific. I wish there were.
-
Bessemer here.
-
Got a new Evanix 9mm PCP bullpup, its awesome, bought a pump with it then got a small tank to fill it.
-
Sounds like a blast! I myself haven't taken the PCP plunge yet. But, I know one day...
-
It's my first PCP, won't be the last, I wanted a large caliber so had to do a PCP, I can see others in my future.
-
If I ever make the plunge; I have a feeling .25 would be my minimum caliber requirement. Hopefully by the there will be a greater selection of ammo...
-
It was between the .25 and the 9mm for me,I get 14 good shots off a full fill which is about 160 to 170 pumps with the Hill pump,I can go a third mag. but that just means more pumping. Just got the 90ci tank (small) Im not sure how well its going to fill my gun, had a leak the first time and lost about 700psi before I caught it,I was at the range with ear protection on,, Im sure im going to end up with a smaller cal. like the .25, probably a different Evanix.
-
Like Sciguy guy says you all need to come up to Heflin Al this Saturday 1/10/16 for our Ft match and fun shooting after the match as we welcome new airgunners and hold matches the first Saturdays of each month. It looks to be a wet day this Saturday but if we don't shoot on the FT range we will usually shoot at the sight in range just for fun and have targets out to 100 yards to test your skills on .
Sciguy ( Mike), this is Mike that usually shoots with Loren and Gabe at the matches so shoot me a PM when you can and we can talk awhile and hope to see you Saturday.
Mike

Whats the largest caliber allowed at the range in Heflin?
-
Whats the largest caliber allowed at the range in Heflin?
I am not sure as the largest I have seen shot is 25s on the sight in range but I imagine as long as you can hit your target or a tree for a good backstop I don't see an issue with larger than a 25 as we have a 100 yard sight in range with a thick tree line about at the 120 yard range.
The FT range is limited to a max of 22 fpe so as not to destroy the targets since the hunter class is a max limit of 20 fpe for the guns used in that class.
So as long as the pellets/bullets stop at a spinner or solid target that you would furnish I don't see an issue but can contact our president to find out for sure and post back here with that info.
