I'm looking for info folks have on these. I can get them all for about the same price. I'm in the 500-800 range. It will be for 75 and 100 yard EBR shooting primarily. All of these have great reviews, I'm looking for personal long term use that might give the edge to one over the other.
I'm leaning toward the Hawke (I own 3 other Hawke currently) and I still use Chairgun Pro.
What I've seen on the Arken, Athlon, and Riton really have me interested.
I really wish there was a way to try stuff before you buy. I probably wouldn't have kept my Hawke Sport Optics Airmax 30 SF Compact if I tried it first.
My short list. I am also open to suggestions to throw a complete wrench in the system.

I've shot air rifle and rimfire BR for years and have gone through a lot of scopes. The mid-price range scopes are ok, but you plan to shoot 75-100 yards, so you will want higher magnification. At those distances, I shoot arout 35-40X. I prefer Sightron S3 10-50X scopes with either taget dot crosshairs or MOA-2 or MOA-H reticles. These are Japanese made scopes are are clear up to full 50X magnification. You will never regret it. If you shop around for bargains, you may find one for around $800-900 depending on reticle. The MOAs are somewhat more, but I found one for $900. Patience. You will never regret it. Buy once, cry once.

The guys at my range who shoot 100-200 yards use Element Optics, or Atholon.
They are all saving up for Nightforce glass. ;D

In the 'economy' scope arena, I've been test driving a couple of Mueller 40x target scopes on a couple of my PB pistols for 100yd shooting. So far, so good, no complaints. OK glass, not Zeiss or Leitz, but quite useable. I've also used a some Japanese and Chicom target scopes that are no longer in production with good results. I've given up on using fleabay or gobroker on these older target scopes due to return issues. Shops or gunshows are still a source. However a good price on a Weaver T36 would tempt me.
You can use plenty of magnification on benchrest and I don't feel that you need a variable.

I just got an Athlon Argos BTR 10-40×56 Gen 2 yesterday. I've only done some basic visual tests, haven't sent any pellets downrange with it yet, but so far it looks pretty good. I have targets set up at 25m, 50 yds and 100 yds behind the house and for shooting paper in daylight I think it will be just fine. Optics appear clear and sharp, turrets are pretty good, and the reticle is very fine (perfect for benchrest IMO). I have a few minor issues (windage turret zero is off slightly and AO knob range is off a bit) but I don't think those will be an issue for me. For just over $400 it's a pretty good deal.
Edit: It's a second focal plane reticle, which I actually prefer for benchrest, so if you want FFP this wouldn't be an option.

The guys who use the Athlon scopes at my range really like the 2 models above the Argos, more like 6-700.
