Generally speaking, I've experienced poor BB accuracy with rifled barrels, smoothbore seems to be the way to go. For off the shelf BB accuracy, it is hard to beat the smoothbore Daisy 35. You've got to keep the barrel as clean and oil free as possible to maintain good BB accuracy. Excellent accuracy can be had at 2 to 3 pumps out to 5 yards, ok accuracy out to 10 yards, and beyond that, you'll be able to plink soda cans. Accuracy is a relative term here, we are talking shooting BBs from a oversized smoothbore barrel. For a cheap, quiet shooting option at 5 yards in the garage when the weather is bad, it is a great option.Pushing the number of pumps up will also decrease accuracy. I've found 2 to 3 pumps yields the best accuracy. If you want to spend some cash, I've heard the Daisy 499 is the way to go for shooting BBs. I can confirm that the 499 barrel is capable of stacking BBs at 5 yards, I've just never used one in the 499 itself.
On the Daisy site they say the maximum range is 177 yards. Really? Now THAT is impressive for a BB gun.
