heat it and freeze the barrel?
Quoteheat it and freeze the barrel? Goodness gracious PJ that sounds like a bad idea. I would drill/ream the adapter for a close fit to the barrel. And then drill and tap a setscrew 6-32 / 8-32 (your choice) thru the adapter for retention to the barrel.I'm disappointed in Crosman if they're using an antiquated interference securement....Wyo
I was unable to remove the one on my xl. I tried the heat and freeze route, and the brute strength route, and finally decided I was likely ruining the barrel, so tossed it into my culch heap of spare parts and bought a new barrel without the adapter. Lots of people said it couldn't be done. I guess they were right.
