have you tried an SSG with it ?nearly all my cobra tube equipped valves are also running the hammer via SSG's
The SSG might help a bit more, but I think the real answer is the lighter weight hammer. No matter what I try with my regulated SS valved .25 cal, I can't get anywhere near the efficiency / shot count with the MDS hammer as I can with the 20 gram one I still have the Scott made and sold years ago.I think the cocking effort is the price we need to pay for the shorter dwell and resulting efficiency.
Keith,I agree with everything you said - it is just that the even lighter weight hammers (around 20 grams or so) seem to do even better in terms of efficiency (and thus quieter shots too). They do take more spring compression to hit the same power level, so probably can't get to as high a power as the MDS ones do, but I can still easily get to just under 60 FPE with the light weight one.
