Sacramento Valley FTC Match Results Oct 22, 2017

The Sacramento Valley FTC October match is in the books. We had a gorgeous fall day with a chilly early morning warming to a beautiful 75 degree day with mild winds and lots of sunshine. This was our last match before the Phoenix Nationals in two weeks, so we set a challenging course with 10 targets 45yds and over, only 3 or so shots within the typical 23-32 yard zero range, and lots of tiny KZ'z of 3/8 to ¾ of an inch. Nine of our eighteen shooters are headed for the Nats and based upon the scores they shot they look ready. Below are the scores of the 62 shot match which included 6 forced position shots.
After the match we gathered in the clubhouse for a light lunch and discussing the the dumb things we do before and during a match. It looked like everyone had a great time, well except maybe TimK who had the luck of showing up to his very first match with a break barrel and shooting the most difficult course we set all year. He was still smiling at lunch so that was a good sign.
Our last match of the season will be next month at our Ione location. Photos are courtesy of JackC who always does a great job on the camera.
As always a big thanks to everyone who helped with set up and tear down, your assistance is much appreciated.

Great fun on a challenging course!
I often think I might learn more if I just followed along and watched the hot shots ...
But I am way too addicted to the shooting to just watch.
HA!
Thanks for the yummy sammiches, Jim and Co.

Indeed another GREAT match for 2017.
While the course set Sunday was not very novice friendly, it did prove that for those fortunate & headed to Arizona in 2 weeks they made the grade of some 90% + shooting which is no easy task !
We certainly hope ALL in attendance continue to enjoy these FT matches being Jim & I certainly enjoy putting them on !
THANK YOU again too ALL in your help in setting up and tearing down !

Jim and Scott really know how to put on an event. We shooters really appreciate the enormous effort and energy you guys put into each and every match.
Here's a couple more photos that I like.

Looked like a fun match guys!
Great to see Gabe's friend come out and shoot. Good scores, can't wait for nats! Only a week and a half!
Looks like Tak and Fred are training in martial arts while running strings in the first picture.

HAA! I know, right?
I messed up the shot by not being in lock step with them in their extended arm salute.
You were missed.
Well, your sweet wife was missed.

Sounds like a beautifully twisted course! The scores were quite high, especially considering that devious grin on Bob Kidd's face, setting up that target... I've pimple's bigger than the kill zone on that plate!
If the national aren't enough for you, come out Nov. 5th for Silhouette at Diablo, now conveniently starting at 1:00 pm for you sleepy heads.... You know you need more off hand practice.....
