Will,
Got a few decent groups at 25 lasered yards today. Scoped the gun, just to make sure it wasnt my eyes. That was part of the problem, as groups tightend up about a dime size at that short range. The Barracuda match in 5.53 shot a few decent groups, but still nothing exceptional. But if you need a gun to stick out the door and hammer stuff to 20 yds, shoot, this thing would probably lay the smack down on a coyote at that distance. Hits hard.
But, I am after a 40 yd hunter.
So I tried the 5.54 FTT's--they might be the golden ticket for this one. They load tighter than anything else, and I got 3 groups out of about 10 that a dime barely covered. 5 shots at 25 yds.
Something is still going on. I definitely have better groups when I hold it a certain way, at the grip. It still wants to torque also.
So, to try and give you a hand too.....
Get a mic, and sort thru stuff. Find the ones that are .2175 to .2185. Wipe'em off.
Rest on a bench. Hold the forearm by making a U with your fingers, placing your thumb and pointer in the screw holes on each side. Grip the sides firm, and so it cant torque, but keep the palm of that hand just touching the bottom. Use that to pull into the shoulder.
Grip the pistol more with your pinky, but loose with the others.
See if this doesnt tighten up the groups some. I think the old b-25 I had prefered this kind of hold.
I think I'm gonna have to crack into this one, to eliminate some torque.
God bless,
Farmer

Will, one more thing.
As you are observing what is going on during shot cycle, think of what it will take to counter that action.
Remember in the last post, I said that my grip was having an affect on grouping?
Just went back out, for an evening session. Something in the shot cycle kept bothering me, and I determined that (like most often) it was me.
So modified my hold a little tighter, and turned the 2nd adjustment screw on the trigger. Viola!!!
Just got done shooting some nickle sized groups with the Cuda's. Some were quarter sized, but 3 out of 5 were nickle sized, and 1 or 2 strays were making the nickle, the rest were cloverleafing. 25 lasered, 5shot groups, 5 groups. So the GUN can group, its just me, and adjustments.
My point-DON'T give up. Hope you had some good shooting weather today....and some good luck.
God bless,
Farmer

Finally, a pic of this gun. Not that it looks special. The scope is a normal leapers/utg 3X9, with AO.
Long scope, would like to put a bug buster on this, makes the gun feel heavy.
The Steriod benji is there for reference.
IF the barrel were any shorter, it would be hard to cock with a normal strength spring.
Still tweaking, but got some very good groups today. Once I can duplicate the groups at 25 consistantly, will post pics to show you guys what it can do. Also will include chrony numbers.
This gun was checked over, barrel shortened and re-crowned, and had the second screw modification, all from Mike for < 190.bucks, brand new.
IF you want a carbine that comes in around 14-16 ftlbs, and under 8 lbs, and under 200 bucks shipped, check one out. This little .22 hits hard.
God bless,
Farmer

It looks great to me Farmer! I'll be working 7:AM till 7:PM for the next few days so, no time to shoot until I get off. I'll have some more pellets to try by then so I'm looking forward to that. I've been thinking and have a couple of other ideas to try (from my ole power burner days) and I'll update you if it does any good. I was wondering if you had a chrony and what FPS is it consistant ?
