Sacramento Valley Field Target 2024 season is starting up

SVFTC ( Sac Valley Field target Club ) is about to start up the 2024 season where we are going to have 10 to 55 yard AAFTA style Field Target matches every month March to October.

We are always shooting the 4th Sunday of every month at the Sacramento Shooting Center in Slough House California or commonly referred to as the IONE facility. * See Club Web page for more details.  SVFTC Home
Activities generally start with set up @ 7:30 - 8:00 am. Practice generally 8:30 to 9:00 and matches start by 9:30 or so. Most times we do a 60 shot match that takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours.


These "Club" events are Fun Shoots and as such a great place to get in some practice if a serious competitor, or just a place & time to get together with like mind AG shooters.

We welcome New shooters or those curious to stop by at any event ..... We can teach you the FT game, Help improve your game all while hanging out with an outstanding group of Air gun enthusiasts.  Many will stay after our FT matches and shoot other Air guns for giggles & fun for a few hours or more


Our 1st match of the season is the clubs Jim Cyran memorial match ( Co founder of the SVFTC ) where we will provide a full lunch for all those participating in the FT match this day.

This is on MARCH 24th 2024 at Range #9 which is the same range we'll use all season.


Note that the FT game we play is limited to a MAXIMUM power of 20 FPE or less.  Most popular caliber is .177 & .20, tho .22 or even .25 may be used so long as meeting the max allowed power.     Range distance to target/s is an unknown and must be determined via Scope Parallax or Bracketing as NO electronic range finders are allowed in the AAFTA based classes we offer, but may be used if shooting *Freestyle/Unlimited ( * Which is an anything goes mix & match of allowed aids from any established class )


The Club is also still looking for someone or group to start up some Extreme FT or BR events or any Air Gun shooting events that can happen Same day as the FT event or on Another weekend.   We have a HUGE facility and able to expand what type events we offer, we just need some more leaders to make it happen.


So in closing ... Note your Calendars for 4th Sundays and COME ON OUT and Play some Field Target with the SVFTC crew !!  Your Guaranteed in having a Great time

Good luck buddy.
Not this month, but I will try and make at least one this year.
I cannot deal with the weekend warrior traffic coming home from the sierra.

Looks like we're getting RAIN now on Sunday ... So we are choosing to CANCEL the JIM CYRAN MEMORIAL MATCH this weekend  :P

I hope this notification finds everyone in good health and well being .... 
This month we will have our 1st official match and it will be our JIM CYRAN memorial event.     A full lunch and goodies will be provided to all registered shooters this day.  Morning Munchies & Lunch post match.
We did get rained out in march, so this match & activities just got bumped to this months event.

It has been brought to my attention that some are requesting a Buy / Sell swap meet to happen as well .... So being some have already exchanged E-mails to all the members on this subject, LETS HAVE A LOW KEY SWAP MEET if anyone chooses to participate bring some gear to sell & some money in your pocket so you can buy as well.
* We could as a club function have the 2nd match of each season be an Annual Club Swap Meet ?  We can have this conversation in the future is wishing for it to be an annual event.

Motorhead:
Made a trip out to the range weds, Made sure all the targets were ready, lubed and adjusted. Paper practice targets got NEW cardboard backers, Fresh target paper. Supply boxes restocked etc .... WE ARE READY !!!
