I have a question
JPSAXNC:
I have a PCP pistol, I can charge it to 2600psi. The valves are made from 304 SS. Each valve is retained with 3 hardened 8-32 screws. I would like to replace the valves with 7075 aluminum to lighten the overall weight. Would 7075 aluminum be strong enough to work, with the same 8-32 fasteners? TIA
OTmachine:
May be pushing your luck.

JPSAXNC:
Thanks, looking at the graph, I'll stick with the SS. I had read that 7075 had 90% of the strength of 304SS, but it doesn't look that way on the graph.
Gippeto:
Can you post a picture of the valve, fasteners, fastener arrangement and tube inside diameter?
Al
JPSAXNC:
Hi Al, Right now I'm knee deep in another project. I was asking for future reference. When it's turn comes around I'' try to some pics up, and repost.
