I had a bit of help from rancid Tom a few months ago regarding bsa s10 carbine .22 mk2 and I have renewed seals in the gun and regulator, it’s a uk 12ft/lb model but I’m in New Zealand and want to increase to a around 1600 psi
having just made a regulator pressure tester I see it’s only at 900 psi
Anyone on here who knows what amount of shimming to increase to required level please.
Cheers
Stu

I thought it was only the US that had zero support for BSA products. Check your reg tester with actual results from the gun, i.e., see where it falls off the reg (or goes on the reg) by filling to specific values and see where velocity changes. And, speaking of velocity, what are you trying to achieve and where are you actually at? I’d think 900psi would result in limited velocity.

Hello Jon
The gun is shooting at the regulator at 900 psi at the moment and want to increase to around the 1600 mark a flight curve like a banana.

Why don't you ask Tom, he's the expert in S10s. Alternatively JB should know as he designed those guns. I've never been inside a S10 so can't help you there, not many of those guns in circulation.

Got regulator back together after adding shim washer and now it’s at about 106bar about 1500 psi, very pleased how it’s going.

Stuart,
If you don't mind, could you please explain in detail the process you used to get the reg pressure you desired, and possibly an explaination of which shims did what to the pressure?
Can you post a pic or two of you reg tester?
Oh, and HOW on earth did you get the reg body apart?!! The one I was tasked to work on was bunged up and scarred by someone previously trying to use vice-grips or something to get it apart since there are no wrench flats or spanner holes! I had to resort to making a pair of 'collet wrenches' utilizing a 1/4-28 'pinch bolt' to get the regulator apart. a real P.I.T.A.
SO, it's resealed and working, but I have no idea what the reg pressure is. I just left the stock shims in there and just re-assembled it since that was the tune it came to me in.
Cheers,
M
