I received my brand new Proxima today! My first impression? Wow is it beautiful! Every review I read or watched on this rifle said the same thing, "it's so heavy". What do I say? not so good IT UP BUTTERCUP! People pay good money to go to a gym and lift heavier weights then this rifle! Hopefully you took that as the humor I meant it to be. The gun is stout, but really not that bad. As for the cocking force, yes they weren't kidding. This thing puts my 470Th to shame. I only had time to run a few patches down the barrel and load up both mags. I can't yet report much on accuracy, I really haven't sighted it in properly. But the shot cycle is real nice. I will reply more when I have a weekend to give it a proper trial. Right now I am very happy!
Vortex, I don't think it comes in a spring. Besides I wanted to try a Gas Ram, never owned one before.
The metal disc is to loosen and tighten the screws in the adjustable cheek rest.My scope doesn't touch the rear sight. I wish they did the front like the Dominator 200 carbine with no open sights. All the big Hatsan springers/gas rams that come with the weaver type scope rail, Proxima, Dominator, 155, 100x, 135, 125, you need an offset mount unless you got a really long neck.I've got a Weaver 48377W Tactical One Piece SPR Scope off-set Mount on my Proxima. It's see-thru and is 30mm but has the shims to use scopes with 1 inch tubes. The scope is a Simmons Protarget 30mm tube 3-9X40mm mildot but no AO. Got both at Walmart. The anti-bear trap also prevent damage to the gun, the probe and if the magazine if it were empty the probe might punch thru it.The auto trigger safety can probably be disabled. The gun is similar to my Dominator carbine. The anti-bear trap lever is identical. Where the barrel goes into the receiver is close.Later, Tim.
