Set up this morning around 7:30 to try my single shot tray in "CLIMAX", the Mutant Standard .22 cal that has been prepped by Charlie at Georgia Air Guns. You can probably tell by my submission that I am very happy with the performance of this sweet rifle. Dont know if the shot tray was the cause but I am really stoked on how I did this morning!
So I guess I will go first in this months comp.

Name: mr007s
Airgun: "CLIMAX"- .22 cal Mutant Standard
Sights: MTC Connect 3 x 12
Pellet/Bullet: JSB 18.1
Position: Seated-"The Rock" Front rest- Homemade rear rest
Score and Group Size: 50/50  4X---.610 C-T-C (I inspected with a lope and believe the line was not touched but will abide by others opinion. Thats why the question marks on the target pics.

Is it permissible to enter with another caliber or is it limited to one submission per person?

You can enter another caliber.... GREAT SHOOTING !!!

I can't tell if that's a 4th X or not, it's Marty's call anyways....

Thanks Bob. It will be hard to call by the photo but with the target in hand and viewing thru a 10X loupe the line is intact. Either way marty decides I am pleased with the results from this morning.

mr007s.... you can enter as many targets as you like as long as each one is a different caliber.

That's a fantastic target you have there. It's hard to score a target with out physically having it in hand but if you were to score it with a .22 plug or an Eagle Eye my best guess would be that it breaks the line and wouldn't count as an X(I have been wrong before though). I use both and you would be surprised how much bigger the actual head of the pellet is than the size hole it makes.

There is plenty of time until the end of the match. If you want to mail me your target and I'll score it with an Eagle Eye scoring gauge and then we would be certain of it's value. Let me know and I'll PM you my address.

For now I'll enter your score with 3 Xs.

Thanks marty, I value your opinion and I am not greedy. 3X will be just fine, I'll just have to try harder next month.

You can see an example of what Marty means if you look at my target from last month.... The bottom hole, by itself, doesn't appear to touch the line, but put a pellet in it, and it completely breaks it.... The other hole on the left, which looked way clear, nearly touches the line when a pellet is inserted.... It gets more difficult to use a pellet (or a gauge) to check a hole when there is an adjacent hole touching it like on 007's target, of course.... but if it touches the line when you insert a pellet, it most certainly doesn't count the higher score in our Matches...

Thanks, the thing that pushed me over the edge to own a Mutant was all the positive post here on the GTA. I credit the post by motorhead for most of my decision. So I would say yes they are all good as long as it has the CZ barrell. Mine has a CZ barrell that Georgia Airguns prepped and installed. I am pleased with Charlies skills and with my purchase.

So far, all of the Taipans that I have seen shoot very well.  I turned mine down to shoot the 25 grain JSBs @905 fps. and ran a patch down the barrel... Thats it!
If I remeber correctly, mine has the LW barrel.

If we submit a target for a given caliber, do we have the option to upgrade for the match if we shoot a better target for the same caliber?  Just trying to clarify the one target per caliber rule.

To answer you question........ No. You are allowed 1 target per caliber per match. Once you submit that's your target in that specific caliber for the match, no changing once it's posted. You can also submit 1 target each for any other caliber that you want to shoot.

You can wait until close to the end of the match before submitting a target in case you shoot again and come up with a better score and then submit the best one. Shoot as many targets as you like but only submit 1 in any given caliber.

There will be a new match every 4 weeks so there will be more matches coming.

All right I got my compressor back up and running. I may miss the next match, I'm going to take my scope off and send it back to the distributor. The parallax knob is busted.

Nice target Ricky ..... I'll take that all day at this point in this game.  Work and wind are standing in the way of my 100 yard stuff .... I definitely don't like work interrupting my shooting.

I've had this target sitting around since I shot it, hoping I would get a chance to do better.... no way I can get out again, so here it is....

It was shaping up to be a nice target until a gust of wind on the last shot pushed it out to a 9 instead of a 10....

Nice shooting Marty & Bob ..... I'm trying to get out.  For 100 yards, I have to go to a range.  Only 30 minutes away, but waiting on a calm day.  Every chance I get, it's either been raining or blowing hard around these parts.  I'll get there.

Is this similar to your rifle?
