I owed you this Marty and I appologize it took so long but I finally had the perfect night to get some numbers.*DISCLAIMER*I am using "Chrono-Connect" app on my smart phone. It is not a true Chronograph but by triangulating and using the microphone I believe it does a descent job.I carefully measured from the muzzle to the steel target, then muzzle to phone, the drop of phone from muzzle.Chose my CPHP from the dropdown menu and gave EACH gun 8 pumps and 12 shots. I threw out the "High" and "Low" readings to get what I think are good samplings of each. 312 342 392P 392PA 503 583 418 659 509 578 416 657 529 583 395 660 512 586 379 665 511 589 385 668 508 591 372 675 516 592 375 668 523 596 376 671 517 598 380 663 510 596 389 670AVG 514 589 389 665ES 26 20 46 18SD 7.7 6.6 16.5 5.8What I found was interesting compared to my "Gut Instinct".I thought my 312 was shooting pretty good and the 342 was weakest because I had backed off the pump rod length to get the forearm flush after replacing the linkage.. I thought the 392P would be on top because of the pump effort being the hardest and it retains air on 8 pumps... Looks like I need to go into that one.I added the newer 392PA because of it being untouched and fresh... just as a base line compared to my vintage stuff.I am liking my prized 342 more and more. Thanks for the thread.
Cast iron skillet works great and since you already mastered stealth you can sneak it back in the house without getting caught.
*GROAN*I AM A C.I. COLLECTOR!THIS is sacrilege... any of you numbskulls that have an old C.I. skillets, pots, dutch ovens, or even lids to shoot at... send it to me. I will re-season it and cherish it as I am Cooking Chilli, Roasting a porkloin, chasing a fried egg with a spatula around it. Beats the socks off an aluminum Teflon pan EVERY SINGLE DAY!.Below is a mass pick of my starting collection back a couple years ago, then a group shot of my pride and joys that are older than most if not all members here.
Quick "war" story... When Hoosier Momma and I got married back in the day, I was a dumb Yankee (still am) but she came to me with her Mothers C.I. Skillet. I thought I would do her a favor and clean that nasty old thing...an hour and several steel wool pads I had it nice and shiny to surprise her.HER EYES WENT RED WITH FIRE! Then the tears.THAT is when I learned about C.I. and after she re-seasoned it with a pound of bacon in the oven, she made me Hill-Billy Sausage Gravy in it.Ruined me for life on restaurant "Biscuits and Gravy". Nothing beats HERS! Now 20 years later I am a die hard fan and restoring my own... Even have a 20 qt Dutch oven.... that's 5 gallon!
We went from airguns to cookware. A little off topic to say the least.
