Not long like many lesser guns but long when compared to my 342 and Sheridan whose triggers are darn near perfect. Long enough so that you have to concentrate. In fact it's best to shoot that gun with one, quick (relatively) pull through.
If I'm not mistaken, the "tang" you high lighted is not the sear. The sear is the next "tang" back.
If I remember correctly, the checkering was towards the later part of the model run.And no, I don't have numbers on my 312. I don't have a chrony. But I do have "Chrono-Connect" on my smart phone so I can try and get some, just don't know how accurate it is.
