Permablue versus Oxpho-Blue - no contest.

I recently ran out of Birchwood Casey Perma-blue and decided to try the Brownell's Oxpho-blue. I rarely use this type of product but on rare occasion, I will touch up a ding or re-blue some shredded screws. I can say that EASILY, the Oxpho-blue is superior for these small touch up jobs. I am 100 percent sold on this stuff. I see that they make a creme as well. Has anybody had experience with the Oxpho-blue creme ? I assume I am just late to the party on this stuff but I am delighted to know that I can use this to clean up all my sanding, filing, and cut marks.
The Perma-blue seemed to do the job until I tried this, maybe because it's fresh ? It just seems to be more tenacious and I am certain it looks better because of it.

Oxpho-blue has been my go-to for decades. It works wonderfully and it's easy to use. Win-win.

Hi Mitchell,
I used the oxpho-blue crème a few times and I like it a lot.
Never tried the regular (liquid) product and probably won't because the crème doesn't run or drip.
My first attempt was posted here:
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?PHPSESSID=e954948fe94de2ab9cf24294ace04a00&topic=156933.0
The finish still looks the same on that barrel almost four years later...
Wyo
p.s. I haven't tried other cold bluing products so I'm not saying oxpho is the best

I have used Brownells Oxpho Blue Cream for many years and their Dicropan T-4 Cream is a deep black finish. I tried alot of others but nothing beats them for me. The T-4 matches Crosman barrels the best for touch ups in my opinion.

Thanks Van,
I looked that up and found this while reading. This guy has really done his homework and there is a LOT to learn here. Once you think you have it figured out, somebody comes along and turns the page on you. Back to the drawing board !~

I use the Oxpho Blue Cream as well, but usually apply 3 or more applications after 3x of JAX Iron Black
Does a nice job spot repairs or whole part job..........
