Title: Anyone have an Artemis lp400?
Post by: bantam5s on February 05, 2023, 05:50:57 PM
I found this pistol available through an Ebay seller and am interested.

It's a single stroke pneumatic pistol like a p17 but modeled after a 1911 and in .22 instead of .177.

The sights aren't adjustable and the trigger probably isn't either, but the smooth rounded top of the " slide " sure seems like it would be much more comfortable on the hand to operate.

Never knew this pistol existed.  I think it looks better than the over styled P17.  The latter has adjustable sights, a form fitting grip, shoots well, and is good value.  No idea what a Atemis LP400 would cost.

I like the sights and trigger of the p17, but hate the look ,the grip, and the very sharp top which tears into my hand.
I rounded/ smoothed off the top of the one I had, but that didn't help much because it's still a narrower contact area that was uncomfortable on my hand.

This looks like a wide smooth rounded surface that would be significantly easier on the hand.
I don't understand the lack of adjustable sights though or the bottom rail though, that combination just makes no sense.

Why in the world would they think it's okay to put a modern pic rail on a classic A1 pattern 1911 styled pistol ( note the arched back strap of the grip ), and if they're going to go modern enough to put that rail why not go all the way instead of limiting yourself to the inferior sights found on the old GI 1911's ?

It's like putting a modern high speed ball bearing shimano reel on a classic Fenwick fiberglass rod.

Balistas has it for 63 euros but I never bought anything from them and I don't think they ship to US.
These guys have it for $43.33 but I've never heard of them :(

Thanks, but I am not that sold on needing another AG.  Have too many as it is :)

Yup I hunted enough for it, if one falls into my lap, I would defiantly enjoy playing with it though.

Well, the ebay seller claims to have 10 of these for a buy it now of $85 (or best offer).  Else I would not post the link until the OP made up his mind:
There is also a "make and offer" and a 10 % off option with the code: 10PERCENTOFFPB

At the risk of missing out on this, I will wait for the OP's impressions. From what I gleamed it looks like the part that connects to the pump/compression chamber is plastic.

Yeah I made a $50 offer to that Ebay seller which was declined and I'm not sure I'd want to spend more than that on one.

I found a Budk style discount knife website that has them for about $45 I think it was, but I've never heard of them.
Maybe I'll look into them and if they are a reputable vendor I'll look into buying one from them.

Balistas is a well known and reliable reseller here in Europe, Czech Republic based. They don't ship abroad I think, only within EU countries.

That's a shame.

If you are looking for this pistol from European dealers that ship to the US, I believe Mundilar is such a dealer:

Well somebody payed $84 for the one on Ebay,  maybe that's worth it because they don't really seem to be available in the US but I certainly wouldn't pay that much for one.
