Title: Anyone seen this rifle available?
Post by: bill soppet on January 30, 2023, 12:58:55 PM
While doing some searching for additional info on my full tune M/M XS46U (fantastic shooting rifle BTW), I discovered it was produced under various labels such as Browning Leverage (Umarex), XS46U (Xisico), XS38-2 (SMK), and XT303-1 (XTArms).

Browsing the XTARMS.com web site I stumbled upon an underlever model XT303-5 that looks like it might be a clone of the HW97KT.

Has anyone seen this XT303-5 rifle for sale anywhere yet?

Thanks,
Bill

Bill I searched for it on DuckDuckgo but no results came up for XT303-5 air rifle.  Is your XS46U .22 cal and what kind of velocities do you get with it ?

If you go to XTARMS.COM website under the Products > Underlever menu, you will find it.

I can post my muzzle velocities later tonight when I get home from work.

I received my XS46U (.22 cal) from Mike back in the middle of October and have managed to shoot approximately 1000 pellets down my 25 yd range. My rifle is scoped with a UTG 4-16x44 compact.  Most of my shooting has been pellet testing off the bench over my chrony. I have been gathering data correlating accuracy and muzzle energy versus air temp and pellet variables. So far I have tested pellets from Crosman, JSB and H&N.

I also have an MM tuned XS46U.  .22.   And....I concur.   Mike is a great guy!
Mine is getting 730+fps depending on the pellet
The gun is a tad on the heavy side, but it shoots laser straight. I like it.

Google Tech Force 99 or TF99. you'll see it's the same gun with a nice thumbhole stock and barrel weight/muzzle break.

Tim,
In my searching I did consider the TF99 and could not find any that looked like the thumb hole stock, sound moderator and stock checkering. Could you send me a link to where you seen this variant.

Wayne,
Here are some of the velocity numbers I measured with my ProChrono outside with temps ranging between 75-35 degrees F.

CPHP (14.3gr.) = 760-770 fps
CP Dome (14.3) = 750- 760
H&N FT (16.5) = 720
H&N FTT (14.6) = 765 -785
H&N B'Cuda 15 (15.9) = 680- 705
H&N B'Cuda 18 (18.3) = 670 - 685
H&N Sniper Mag (18.0) = 660
JSB Express (14.3) = 700
JSB Exact (15.9) = 710 - 720
JSB Hades (15.9) = 700 - 715
JSB Heavy (18.1) = 675 - 690

In my conversations with Mike, he suggested that matching pellet weight (grains) with muzzle energy (ft-lb) would optimize main spring life. So far I have found in my limited testing that the 18 grain pellets produce between 18-19 ft-lb, and the 5.52-5.53 mm head size yields the smallest groups.

Many people comment the XS46U is overly heavy. Personally, I like the weight of this rifle. I'm not a big guy, but I do compete in CMP/NRA Highpower and my service rifle is over 13# so I guess I'm used to a heavy rifle which is an advantage for offhand and recoil management.

I didn't see a TF99 with a T.H. stock. The TF99 mechanically is the same gun as the XT303-5. Both guns have the same trigger. Never seen the 303 for sale in the U.S.

I had a Leverage. Didn't care for it. I sold it or gave it away. I prefer the 99's look. Got two of them, .177 and .22. The trigger of the Leverage/46 is the same as the 99 except the location of the anti-bear trap release. The parts may look a little different but it work the same way. Same trigger is in the B4-1 side lever and QB6 folding stock side lever except for the safety. QB6 doesn't have a safety. Some B4-1's have an external safety attached to the back of the trigger guard.

I only shoot of a bench and bag so most heavy guns don't bother me. I don't hunt or pest. But s
hooting left hand my Diana 56th and B21 side levers wear me out switching hands to cock and load then switching hands again to shoot. Lighter side levers not so much.

Use to shoot right hand till I blew a vein on my right retina. That how I got into air rifles, to learn to shoot left hand then I got hooked.

I recently bought a Mellick-tuned XS46U, and Mike had tested 3 pellets; 13gr=777fps, 15gr=726, RWS Hobby=823!  I didnt get to shoot it much, maybe 30 pellets. It is big.

I'm pretty sure Tech Force went the way of the Do-Do bird.

They're similar, like a Seiko and a Rolex.

I believe the Tech Force were made by Industry Brand/SAG.

Air Venturi... Parent company of both AirgunDepot or PyramydAir bought the rights to sell Tech Force (TF*) name brand years ago.
Then it crashed.
You ain't going to find a new one.
SAG options are what they have now... or so I understand.

I have an old TF M12 and had an M8 made by Menodza for PA. I believe SAG and Industry Brand make the Chinese Beemans.

I have seen this rifle on Brit sites. I believe it is called a Remington Warhawk, and is mostly an xs46u in a different suit. Nice!

REMINGTON Air Hawk......means remington has rights to that model and where it can be sold....scream and holler at Remington air rifles and they might.....import some.

Thank you Bicycleman and Mike Melick for this information.  I guess now it is a matter of contacting Remington to cajole them into offering the Warhawk in the US or finding an online seller.

It has much more in common with a TF99 than a XS46U.

I am tending to agree with the commonality to the TF99 (QB36-2) dressed with a good looking thumb hole stock.

Since it is only marketed in the European countries it is only available as a 12fpe rifle.

I found the thread here on this rifle about wanting Crosman/ Remington to offer it here in the USA.

yeah Bill, it is a similar design to the 97 NON K, but if you really look at it is more a QB38/XS38 or TF99 with lip stick. that being said, if you want a good chinese underlever, search for a B40... if you cant find one then the xs46 is a good second choice.

I have a B40 and had a XS46U. It's like comparing a Corvette to Impala. 46 is a 99 in a different stock and anti-bear trap release.

My detective work shows that BAM and Remington go way back together, but I can't find any evidence that Remington has ever partnered with SAG.
Further clues:
The Warhawk has the sliding plastic BAM barrel latch.
SAG uses an adjustable front button unit on all its underlevers.
The trigger units on the xs46u and the tf99 appear identical, and may indeed be the same, but I'd bet it was BAM who produced them.
This is a mystery in itself because outside of this particular trigger unit, I haven't seen any part so similar between BAM and SAG on any of their respective airguns.
(Even the xs60 and qb78.)

I did some searching on the UK Chinese Airgun Forum for info on the Remington Warhawk. It seems this rifle is not looked on favorably due to power plant workmanship issues. The main positive feature is the stock quality.

The internals of the Warhawk are the QB36-2 by SAG and not the XS38 (XS46U, Leverage, XT303-1).

Thanks for the correction! The lever latch and trigger unit had me fooled.
The QB36-2 is supposed to be back later this year through Beeman and I hope SAG has addressed the quality issues. I have one in .177 and it would be great, but the actual bore is a hair over .177.
