Title: Hunters Specialties 2-8x32 - springer safe?
Post by: Kragman1 on October 29, 2022, 11:08:00 PM
It's a side focus scope that seems to be a doppelganger of the Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8x32.  I'm guessing sourced from the same factory as the Vortex, and I'm hoping is just as springer friendly.

I just mounted mine on a Diana 48, and I'm hoping it isn't a death sentence.

If anyone has tried them on a springer, let me know how it worked out.

Thanks!

I had that Vortex scope.  Great glass.  Minimum focal distance 20 yards.

Thanks Yogi.

How did yours hold up, and on which rifle(s)?
Also, my side focus is marked down to 20, but on lower magnifications I'm clear much closer, 5 yards or so.  I understand that doesn't mean that my parallax is good in that situation, but I'm still happy about it.

Never mounted it.  20 yd min parallax was a deal breaker for me.  I got it to be a backyard pesting gun.  Would have been mounted on a HW 50 in .22.
Backyard never happened.  Sold it to a fellow GTA'er. ;)

PS just because it has the same Vortex tube and controls does not mean it has the same glass.  Vortex Diamondback glass is excellent.  Hunters Speciaties I don't know.
My Vortex was just over $200, before they cancelled them.

Glass is super.  I'm just hoping that IF it's a twin, they built them the same way internally.

Otherwise I'm about to ruin a nice scope.
