Great shooting guys! Ill join you soon, thanks for getting a jump on it! ;D
-
I might have to give this a try! I have an AA S510 now, so I think I qualify! ;D
-
I noticed that trend here too!
Great start guys.
-
That's OK, I'll use the trailer park pellet gun, the Dang Alright Rifle! ;)
-
May have to give this a try. Looks fun.
-
Good shooting John and Eric! Father-son duo is doing well.

Okay, this is my first time trying this, so don't laugh too hard! I'm also a bit confused on scoring, so if I'm off, please feel free to correct my mistakes!

I just added a photo. I also realized I put he wrong pellet also, this target was shot using the AA 16 grain .22 pellets, as annotated on the bottom of the target.
-
Paul... I am on my cell phone now so I can't judge your target.
BUT...
I can already tell this is going to be a good season!!!
-
You guys are really setting the bar high!! I hope to have a submission this afternoon.

Good shooting John and Eric! Father-son duo is doing well.
Charlie
Thanks Charlie... appreciate the kind words. Maybe next time we can all get together and shoot our targets.
-
No Mas!
The 0-5 mph breeze that was supposed to come tonight never got here and the 10-15 mph wind was too hard to overcome, pellets high, low, left and right, Ill try again another night.
-
Perforated Bovine!
I am so out of shape!
I will hold onto this target in case I can't shoot again by the deadline... but it is too embarrasing to post yet.
-
When is the deadline each month?

Is this where we post our scores?

Yes, just look at the top of the page.

A match lasts 2 weeks. This Sunday is the dead line for match #1

I score you at at least 192, maybe a few Xs. I'm new too, hopefully an old timer will score you.

I trust your judgement! ;D I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to scoring... :o
-
Can you submit more than one? I shot it again, but this time with my FX Crown Continuum, shooting 25.39 grain .25 cal JSB Exact Kings. I don't think I did any better, but just wondering if it was just one entry per person, or one entry per caliber?
Here are the results, just for giggles...
Rifle: FX Crown Continuum w/380mm Barrel
. PCP Class
. Shot @ 30 yards
. Resr: Tripod
. Scope: Element Helix @ 10 Power
. Pellet: .25 JSB Exact King 25.39gr
. Score: 186/200
Again, I have no idea what counts for what when scoring, so this is my best guess!

So.... am I understanding that we just keep shooting and turn in the highest scoring target? 🤔

Correct! I have shot 5 targets so far and they are all awful! I'll try again before Sunday nights deadline and will submit the best of my worst. 🙄

I'm gonna try to get one in. Had an ablation done on my back today so depends how I feel tomorrow. My range area is slightly downhill.

Shots 7 and 14 (both 9's) were so close I probably counted one as a 10. Great shooting however it adds up!

Score: 186/200

I think you have the hang of it. I may have scored two of your 9's as 10's, but they are very borderline. It's hard to tell if a 'full sized pellet hole" would touch that center white or not.
-
Had a very still evening, so I set up and knocked out a 50 feet and a 30 yard session in the or so 90 minutes of daylight I had left. This 30 Yards was done with my .177 Avenger. It's tuned low to shoot 7.9gr CPHPs around 865fps, so these 7.87gr JSBs are probably going about the same speed. A few shots seemed borderline, I used the head of a .177 wadcutter to aid in scoring.

There's a utility website to evaluate shooting precision -- I uploaded my target and analyzed it. It lets you zoom in and mark the bullseye/POA and then each POI with dots that are exactly 4.5mm (or whatever you tell it.) It can combine multiple targets with multiple POAs and POIs into one composite, great for figuring out which pellet really is the best choice. I just used to mark the hits and see if they grazed the 10 or not...still borderline on one of my 10s so might be 197. Anyway, the website is:

Just one entry per person per match, whatever gun you choose, the target has to match the caliber.
Paul, I went back to your entry and changed your score to the 191/200 - 2X
-
Thank you! :D

A little rusty, have not entered in a good while. Had wind gust and had to shoot when it slacked off. Last 4 shots at bottom were off the regulator but I was nearing the end of time limit and decided to not walk to the shed and refill. Wish I had.

Alright guys, don't give me to hard of a time. First time doing this with Air Rifles. No time for practice, so it is what it is.Target was a 5 degree down angle because of terrain. No excuses. By the way, thanks for having these. A lot of fun no matter my score, although it will get better. God Bless.

My days off have not lined up with decent weather, so I was only able to shoot indoors. Will be in on the next one with a bit of luck.
Some great shooting in this first match!!

Seems I am never rested enough to take the time to shoot a rested match :-\ Keep up the good shooting people :)
-
Nothing to report, no targets worth posting. I'll join you all next round.
-
So did the 2nd match start today or will it post?
Or, do we post each match on this thread? Newby here
-
I will post a new match every two weeks.
You should see Match #2 later tonight or early tomorrow.
(Just got home frome work.)
-
Cool! Is there a way to set up notifications for them? Still trying to figure out the site.
-
I don't think you can get notification to a new thread, only to replies in an existing one.
You best bet is to go here https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=66.0 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=66.0) and check your prefered batch and check for new threads.
I put the match number in the title.
This morning I started Match #2 and it will run until Sunday May 29th.

If you go into the specific category your are interested in, you can click Notify in the top right corner of the thread. This should send you an e-maol anytime a new thread is posted in this section. I did it for the 30 Yard Rested, 10M Pistol and 5M Pistol, which are the 3 I'm interested in participating in.
-
Thanks guys. That helped me figure it out.

Look at me teaching you something new! ;D I also have one setup for the Bargain Gate and Member's Classified, but those two have proven to be expensive! :P
