I'm probably over thinking things, BUT.....
What do you guys use for footwear for shooting FT? I recently saw a YouTube video for shoes for other shooting disciplines and it made we wonder what works for FT.

Does ambient temperature make a difference?
I wear tennis shoes.
If I was in the woods (or Nevada) I might wear snake boots.
We have one shooter here in the SF Bay Area that wear flip flops all year long…

There is a FT match tomorrow that I want to join. The weather forecast is calling for rain today and tonight, with the temperatures tomorrow being 38-51. So the ground will be wet.
My other concern is the forced kneeling position and what foot wear works for that. I was shot in my right calf two weeks ago and it is still healing. So I’m a bit worried about how kneeling will effect my leg, and wondering if the right shoe or boot could help.

I don’t kneel.
I shoot standing up.

Comfort FIRST ... Support if required
Nothing special required IMO

You had the answer, over thinking.

I am pleased to hear this, I had thought I was the only one. Also, I was unsure if there were any requirements preventing open toe shoes for safety reasons.

High tops can help a bit in the standing position.

Chigger season will convince most to wear full shoes, tennis shoes or the like, with long socks. No one likes chiggers, dear ticks, and poisonous caterpillars in some parts. Wear flip flops and you will learn the hard way.
I know some who shoot in half-calf rubber boots.
