Taking Daisy 747 from United States to the Philippines and bringing it back?

Hi everyone. I plan on taking my Daisy 747 air pistol to the Philippines. I will buy a lockable case that will hold my air pistol. I plan on putting this lockable case into a large suit case and checking it at the airport. Can some one please tell me how I go about doing this so I can get the air pistol to the Philippines and in about 6 months I plan on bringing it back to the United States from the Philippines. I plan on taking the air pistol back and forth between these two countries every year.
I have a clean record. I am not a fellon. I sure hope there is some way I can do this with out to much hassle. Please help me if you have done this. There will be no pellets in the large suit case with the air pistol. I hope to carry the pellets in my carry on luggage if I can do that. I could also put the pellets in my wife's large suit case that will be checked at the airport.
Thank you so much for your help.

You might look into mailing it to your address in the Philippines using FedEx or EMS. It would have a tracking number using these services so you would know where it is. You may also need to fill out a customs declaration. This would reduce the risk of theft or confiscation or questions from security or customs about what it is.

Check with your airline. Each airline has a specific procedure to follow when handling firearms (yes it will fall under that category).
And get the FAA regs also.
These apply to declaration and packaging of the firearm. And make a copy of the rules to keep with you to reference, if you need to.
Have proof off US ownership for the gun, to avoid US Customs hassles. Contact US Customs for more info, my info is dated. It is not an expensive gun, and it is a Daisy, so you should not have problems.
Check with Philippine regs and laws re declaration to Philippine Customs and any local laws.
Plan for up to an hour (or more) of additional processing time at the airport, to deal with the red-tape of dealing with your pistol.
- My US airport processing was fairly quick, requiring a hand inspection of my luggage.
But unfortunately you some times run into a TSA agent that is totally clueless. And that will add time as he/she bumbles around trying to figure out what to do, as you get frosted at him/her. Best to also have a witness with you, in case he/she does something stupid and damages your gun, and be ready to take pix (for evidence) if that happens.
- My processing time in Germany (to the US) was VERY lengthy, taking approximately a hour.
I've flow to Hawaii and back with mine a few times (domestic).
And I've flown into the US from Germany with a FWB-300. But this was MANY years ago.

might be less of a hassle to just buy one when you get there, and leave it there?
