Not sure where to post this since there is no Daisy gate. I have an old 880 with a metal rcvr and pump arm. Barrel and sheath are rusted beyond repair as is the valve and piston. I really like the metal rcvr and pump arm. Are the current 880s with the plastic rcvr and arm enough like the older ones that I could buy one and add parts from my old one? Also plan to build a wooden stock. I really hate plastic and have a fun time rebuilding old guns. Particularly happy with my stocked 1377 with walnut inserts and forearm. Its a version 1.

I don't know. I have no experience with the metal framed 880. If I had those parts though, I'd head to Walmart and grab a 40 dollar 880 and see. May require modification of the old and new parts, may not work at all. Let us know.
I keep an eye on gunbroker for those metal 880's. Would be nice if the new parts could be made to work in the old frames. Unemployed at the moment and the budget is nearly nonexistent. Someday.

Yes, the barrel and sheath can be swapped, but you will have to do some modifications to the barrel. You will need to use a file to cut a small slot near the breach and the new rifled barrels are slightly shorter than the original smooth bore. To deal with the length issue you can add a piece of K&S brass tube to the muzzle end. I think I may have posted something on this in the vintage forum here WAY back.

Not for nothing but, I think I might lean more towards seeing if I could get parts and give the old one new life.

Does that mean that there have been actual design changes in the 880? I had thought that it was pretty much the same gun through its history.
