Sam, if you're going to use this near your house, I use a wireless doorcam, sends push notifications and takes videos/pics has a microphone, cheap too. These do use wifi from your house to connect to your phone, live feed too.
I live in the sticks and cell reception is non existent or fleeting on most of my property. The property is too large to use wifi. I'm stuck with SD cards.I've got a Cabelas gift card from two Christmas' ago to use. Unfortunately their website is absolutely useless and the reviews are all over the place. Can anyone please recommend a good currently available non cellular camera?Thank you.Ron Merry Christmas
You didn't say if you wanted regular store on the SD card trail cameras or cell cameras that send the photo's to your phone? For cellular I use Tactacam Reveal X cameras. I've been using them for a couple years with zero issues. I use a 12v 10amp external battery and weather tight battery box and they will run just about year round on a charge. I get about 10,000 pics/videos a year per camera. My whole setup with external battery costs about $175 per camera plus a $13 a month (per camera) service plan for unlimited pictures. I have my cameras set to send the pictures to my phone "instantly" and I notice anywhere from a few seconds to a 3-4 minutes delay depending on how much service my phones has. In the event that you don't have service on your phone or it's turned off the pictures will store and send as soon as your phone can receive them again. You can have your camera set to send you the pics once or twice a day as well and it uses less battery. I use them to hunt and the minute by minute play by play has helped me kill a number of deer.
