Crosman 357 Lock up

Have an older Crosman 357 and the barrel housing latch will not lock up. It requires the latch support which looks like a small piece of rubber. It has rotted over the time I have had this pistol. I am going to order 357-020 Housing Latch and 357-021 Latch Support.
The question I have does the pistol need to be taken apart to replace the latch support ?
2/18/19 ,Answer my own question :Yes, does have to be opened up. But did not order parts, Fixed it with a short piece cut from a 3/16th o-ring. Locks very tight now....
