600 ++ fps out of a .22 rifle on co2 is hot. That's what you expect out of a nice shooting 160. And yes, she is a gas hog. But what fun!!

I can now say it is not a "Gas Hog".... It's a "POWER HOUSE"!
The JSB 18.13 Heavies are a tight nickel sized group at 30 yards... and the 25.4g JSB MONSTERS are smacking the 30 yard Target HARD with a group that is about 3/4" .
What a MACHINE!
I need to chrony it to see exactly what FPE this this is dishin out.

Just spotted this thread. Sorry I'm late to the party! I have a 160 Pellgun variant one. The first of it's kind, 1955-56 model I restomodded myself. Yours is indeed a variant 3 from the barrel band, trigger assembly & stock. It does indeed look like an Airforce trainer. I bought the later valve assembly Crosman made from A. That and seal upgrades, a few bits from the Assembly Kit from A, and I've gotten a best of 660FPS and 11.71FPE thus far. Shot these three targets @ 10yds with RWS superpoint extras @ 14.5gr. Tuned the Centerpoint 4x32 scope on Ron Robinson mounts for targets #2 & 3. Should be a great close-range small game rifle?

Find any decent slings yet? I saw this on eBay:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Savage-Firearms-Leather-Rifle-Sling-/282619854147?hash=item41cd74bd43%3Ag%3AxXcAAOSwXGtZm4lS&_trkparms=pageci%253A8488c726-8771-11e7-860e-74dbd180fb5b%257Cparentrq%253A0b745a2e15e0a9c51b9dafaefff69561%257Ciid%253A24
Looks to just need some oil to freshen her up. It's got the clips you would need already.

It's a Hammer!
Shot count is 2/3rds but the accuracy and energy it produces excels . It's sitting to my left right now next to me at the computer.
Rob, This is in the amazon cart as we speak... The 160 already has swivels and rings.

Nice leather sling. I got this olive drab one from Gander Mtn before they closed their doors up the street. I thought the olive drab, which was popular in the 50's, would fit well on a mid-50's rifle. The store logo is cool too, I think?
