Title: St. Pat's FT Match in Concord Ca March 17th (you knew that!)
Post by: Pistoleer on March 12, 2019, 09:52:42 PM
Field Target this coming Sunday, 3-17-19. Weather looks terrific today, but whether (!) you come or not, we're shooting.

8:30 am for setup, 9:00 am start.  First 10 shooters warm up in the long bay, Bay 1, so come early and stake your claim!
Sight in starts after the safety briefing, please keep guns cased until the range is open for practice. We painted all of the hills green for ya', come see them before they turn brown.

Insert typical Irish joke here, along the lines of :
An Irishman goes into a bar in America and orders three whiskeys. The barman asks: "Would it be better for if I put all three shots in one glass?"
The Irishman replies: "No! I have two other brothers back at home, so every time I come into a pub, I order a shot for them both."
The following week, the Irishman orders just two whiskeys.
The barman asks: "Did something happen one of your brothers?" "Oh no," replies the Irishman. "I just decided to quit drinking!"

20 ft lbs limit, .22 cal and under, $10 for Diablo members, and $15 for guests. Youth 18 and under shoot for free, but need an adult supervisor.

Don't have a gun, pellets? - > We have you covered, send me an email.

What a day! Weather was... um , Weather? Sunny, blue skies, fluffy white clouds.  Shifting swirling winds and someone, somehow, snuck out the 1/4" KZ's targets.  (Frank) 10 off hand shots, 50 + yards over the top of a wind bearing berm.  Plus 20 of the best shooters you could spend time with.
Riz read the wind best, Gabe proved that a little rest improves the breed and Jim Mizer moved mountains to set up the course. With lots of helping hands as well.
OK, Bob Kidd, Fred, Mike, and other valued friends weren't there but Sacramento came out to play.
Concord/Penisula/Fremont-Sunnyvale?  Present.
I'll quit typing and start posting.

Flag picture for (wind) scale- it couldn't fly straight with the corkscrew that the air was doing.

Great day in the Bay ...
officially my first WFTF match with a real WFTF gun and indeed ... those winds and how to read them when at >12 fpe takes some talent & those who mastered it were on top !

Thank you for another great match !
