This is by no means all there is to know about this but it may help.
The Foster fittings we so commonly refer to in HPA are called foster because they applied the first patent to it.The same size fittings are now made by Parker
and Hansen also.The quick connect from foster is a 12FSS and the plug is a 12MPS OR 12FPS. 12 is the size= 1/8 inch, F OR M stands for female or male threads,
the S or P stands for socket or plug and the S on the end stands for stainless.I am including links for you to further investigate so everyone can remain safe while pumping up your BB guns.
The first line on this chart from Foster Co. in each category under stainless steel is what we see in most applications.
