Got really tired of swapping gears on the lathe for different threads.
And hand cranking.  ;)

And now I can turn conical and radius profiles easy without special radius cutters.
No more contour mapping turbo housings when cnc can turn the part.

That’s probably the biggest advantage.

I just started playing with lathe cnc. I made a saddle for my mini lathe with x and z. I still control spindle. I’ve still got some learning to do on the program side but initial results are promising.

awesome.. Yes , swapping gears is archaic , and i hate it,  ..( fumbling with little c clips etc )
What controller system is that ??you running closed loop , servos , regular steppers?? it looks like an industrial control system/
