Beginning stages of fun shoot. I know covid is still going on but i hope all is clear by spring so we can have another fun shoot. This time with porta potty again and maybe i can convince some BBQ friends to stop out and cook for us. Bon fire possibly night before if people wish to camp out night before or day of shooting. Plenty of room to tent or rv camp out here. Again this i all if covid threat is over by then. I am getting the fun shoot itch already.

I cant wait to have a small get together fun shoot! I reeeaaaallly cant wait for this to be over so i can host fun shoots again. Last few where a blast!

we're having some windows replaced today, and as soon as my hand heels, i'll finish those little things that need doing before listing the house.

getting closer to planning time, few months away. looks like weather will be the true deciding factor, hopefully virus is down by march, thinking the sooner the better only need a calm sunny day now and no snow. thinking once we get into the 50-60 range it will be shooting time

Great to hear Brandon. Maybe we'll get lucky and get one of those nice 60-70° days in March.

I am up here in Northwest Illinois, 20 minutes from Wisconsin border, Hour away from Iowa to the west Rockford Il is hour east.

I want to come to this one and maybe try some of the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail at the same time.
I'm trying to reply to the poll but not having any success. I would like to choose April and May as my two months. I just realized this was an old poll, so maybe it's closed.

April 13-18 I will be turkey hunting, but I am otherwise open.

Keep a eye on possibly having the fun shoot in may. May 8th is what keeps coming to mind as far as a date.

I put it on my calendar. That's a long drive for me so no promises, but I would love to aggravate you guys and let you outshoot me!!

I'll put it on my calendar, but I just finished open-heart surgery, so the answer is probably going to be no. I'll at least be thinking of all of you. At best it might be my first camping weekend with my wife and new overland vehicle to visit family and I swing by to say hello.

Gentlemen,
I'm actually feeling great after my surgery. Dr. says no shooting for a while (actually a long while), something about wires holding my breastbone together.
But good news is my sons are helping me put my camping vehicle together. I call it Moon Unit. They call it a Glamper. I was wondering if May 8th is still a date on the radar. I'm thinking about travelling to northern Illinois camping and visiting that weekend (Mother's Day) with my wife in tow and my son's say they would camp along.
So, is May 8th a date?

So this is more or less the final stages of planning for the fun shoot on the 8th. If anyone needs to camp out overnight before please RSVP a spot with me before. I will order a port a potty again and we will be outdoors i have no problem firing up the grill. I am fully vaccinated for covid. Please if interested in coming up give me a instant message and i will give you address for my location. Otherwise i am located near Lena, Il 61048 to give some of you a ruff idea of drive time. I will have the generator set out and a table. please bring your own canopy, table and chairs otherwise i can share a table with 1 or 2. I also have my electric pump that i will bring out to do refills. Lots of targets to shoot at. So far there is a small chance of rain the 8th with highs in the upper 50s with 10mph wind. I will keep a eye on the weather and adjust time of shoot

We are cleaning the house today for tomorrows closing, and then we leave early Saturday. While putting the sailboat away, I noticed huge numbers of hosps and starlings in the dilapidated shed. My friend tried to talk me into staying until I eliminated all of them.

Thank you to everyone who stopped out today. Was a bit cold and windy but I had a blast shooting ground squirrels and shooting metal targets all day!

LOL, not a big deal.
Once I decided to head back home, I tried to find a better route. Well I soon ended up in a place where neither my face nor my car belonged. After a couple turns I realized I had picked up a tail.
Fortunately, their choice of vehicle was not suited for pursuit and I quickly lost them and got back out into the country. Not paranoid, but like the red dog, always watching.
I normally like to know the capabilities of my vehicles and had not yet put this one to the test. It responded very well.
Then I picked another route that proved to be better.

Sorry I missed you. I wish I could have turned around, but we were running really late and had reservations at Wildcat mountain and were planning on running trails most of the way up.

This was my 1st time atan event like this and looking forward to doing it again. My wife said she might even give it a try. The camping was good and no problem staying warm. Thanks for a good time
