If you've been thinking about getting an 853 from the CMP,  this is the kind of accuracy you can expect.

This is by far the best value in air rifles there is.

You do not have to belong to any club to buy certain guns from CMP and the 853 is one of these.

Ok!!....I will call in on Monday to see if they will sell me an 853....do most folks prefure the check piece model or the one that looks more like a shotgun butt?
I think I will likely scope the rifle, so I am leaning toward the check pc.

I have the monte carlo style and use it with one of the two spacer extension pieces.  I have not had the opportunity to compare the monte carlo to the shorter style.

Stock style depends on what/how you shoot.
I shoot standing target, and for ME, the MC is more comfortable.

I think the LoP is the same for both straight and MC style stocks.

Thanks.  I meant to type sporter not shorter.  I'm a victim of spellchecker.

Also the "autocomplete" that finishes the word you started typing.
But often finished with the WRONG word.
