Daisy powerline 901 pricing?

I have been having quite a bit of fun recently shooting my Daisy 1977xs/880/35 ....all 3 guns shooting fun targets around the yard and a large gong that is nothing more than a thin stainless salad bowl but rings beautifully like a bell when hung from butcher string thru a tiny hole drilled in the bottom. I can make hits at 80 yards if I hang it at the end of my garden.
So lately I kind of have the urge to add the 901 to my current flock of Daisy pump guns. I can afford it but it just kind of goes against the grain to pay 1/3 More for it when the 880 cam be readily had for $36.95
I know it's very similar to 880 internals with the mid barrel support as an upgrade and also many folks feel the 901 stock is made from thicker or stronger materials.
I know with covid that most of the discount prices have dryed up, the best price I have found today is $60.31 plus tax from Amazon with free shipping.
If anyone knows of a better price online or active coupon code or other improvements to the 901 that I have not listed?...please share!

Academy used to show them for $49.99, but out of stock for a long time...they don't even show them any more.
Flebay prices off the wall...
I believe the Amazon deal about the best going at this time.......(But, I could be wrong...)
Midway has the same deal but nor sure about shipping....

Midway shows free shipping on orders $49 and up right now....Midway seems to change there prices often based on if they have lots of an item and if it is not selling well. I got a Daisy winchester model 12 bb gun from them for $28( great price) went back a couple days later and the price had jumped significantly. I will keep an eye out for a deal as I don't really "need" another pumper

I like my 901 just fine. As stated the stock and receiver does have a more robust ‘feel’. I use one piece scope mounts and on the 901, they seem to snug down more securely than on the 880/1977. I like to add the 901 mid barrel support when I have an 880 apart to work on. It is an effective upgrade. The shorter pump stroke length (forearm vs pump arm on an 880) does get harder above 7-8 strokes. For my use I rarely go that high. For a walking around gun, I like the balance point of the 901 better. Hand fits better without the pump arm ( of the 880 types) getting in the way.
To me, there are more pluses than minuses. Which brings us to price. I think I got mine at Academy for $45-$50- a couple of years ago. Gas was $2 and is now $3. The $60 at Amazon and WalMart (I just checked, WM is a penny cheaper) may be about right. The popularity and enduring reliability of the 50 year old 880 design also leads to market inertia against newer and’better’ models gaining shelf space at the big box stores.

Thank you for your thoughts on your 901 Garandsx.
I don't think the 901 is vastly overpriced, it's interesting to me that pretty much Everyone other than "walmart" has the 880 priced at $54
This $6 price difference is more inline with the difference between the 901 vs 880. IMHO.
I am sure Daisy has the tooling to mass produce 880 paid for years ago....Walmart Must purchase several shipping containers full of 880's at a time and this tremendous buying power allows them to offer at a lower price point....also I suspect Wal-Mart does not get a lot of returns on the 880 so they don't need the big margins of profit. I will own a 901 sooner or later.
