$20 for a JSB tin of 500 now? Great. Glad I bought 8 (6 with 2 free) JSB 18.1 tins at P/A for $16.99 3 years ago. You guys do realize that pellet prices are now the same as 22LR or rimfire right? I was paying $20-$24 for 500 rounds of 22LR a couple of years ago before the shortage/panic. There is no way a little .22 lead pellet costs the same to manufacture as a 22LR which has a brass case, primer, powder, and a piece of lead twice as big. Rimfire prices will go down after the shortage like they do after every shortage, but I doubt pellet prices will.
Not poopooing on anyone and I do feel for the newcomers to the hobby having to deal with pellet shortages and high prices for sure. I was just trying to give other options for find pellets still at a reasonable price. I agree its not going to get better for awhile just like the .22lr shortage/price hike of 10 years ago but all things will eventually come down when supply and demand equal back out. Newbies got to do whatever they can to enjoy the hobby.BD
Well some of us are just getting back into the sport, are brand new, or have just recently acquired their first Airgun in a certain caliber. All 3 scenarios require pellet purchasing regardless of the current market situation. You wouldn’t shame a 19 year old kid who just got his first springer and needs to buy pellets would you? What is he supposed to do, wait 2 years to shoot his rifle until prices go down to back in the day prices? That’s like refusing to drive your car until gas goes back down to 2 bucks a gallon. Also, in my case, I’ve acquired my first .22 pellet gun(s) after 20 years of shooting .177 springers, so I needed to stock up on .22. It was a huge drought 1-2 months ago too and 500 count tin’s of jsb were being gobbled up really fast for $30-57 a tin on amazon and eBay. So seeing $20 tins from a reputable vendor that is known to ship the pellets properly is a welcome sight even if some of you really old guys have some tins left over from 2005 or something that you got for like 9 bucks making 20 seem really high. Prices go up, it’s inevitable, and complaining about the only place that has them AND hasn’t jacked the price up to $57 seems ridiculous. If you have some stashed and you got them cheap year(s) ago, good for you. But don’t poopoo people who aren’t stocked up or are just starting out who are going to buy them at the best price currently available. There is a shipping and raw material supply problem going on currently...
I agree. It's a good thing P/A is liming the # of tins you can purchase. This way more people get to buy pellets, and the for-profit-crowd won't get their hands on a lot of them only to put them up on eBay for twice as much. I actually never thought I 'd see the day when people would take advantage of a pellet shortage and sell them on eBay and other classifieds for $50/tin like PB ammo.

I ordered 8 of those tins and upon finishing that order, it appears as if I could turn around and buy another 8 tins if I wanted, just by making a separate order/transaction and paying for shipping twice. Or would it tell me “nah, ah, ah“ like the fat guy’s computer (Nedry’s) in Jurassic Park? Not that I plan to buy another 8, but I couldn’t help but notice it looked like you could trick the system and buy as many as you wanted. If I’m right, then their limit system won’t keep the for profit guys at bay.
Or go to Walmart and pay $6.24 a tin, problem solved! If everyone would dial back their champagne taste for a while it would ease up the demand side of the equation. I like shooting the JSB's too but can be happy shooting the CP's until things settle down, hopefully.
When did the 8 tin limit go into effect? There was no limit a couple of weeks ago when I bought H&N 18's.
