What was it shooting at before you started tuning? Try returning to the original settings and see if it shooting near same.
The velocity screw does have a locking cap over the adjustment screw, which will turn in all the way but not back it out.

Agreed, it's good of them to cover damage from operator error.
I would say that not many guns, regardless of brand, could suffer a slam like that and come out unscaved. Try it with yours, if you dare.
Then see if that gun maker/distributor will cover the damage...

Good morning GTA! Up at 0400 CT. It’s the day before Friday and I’m working with both of the new guys replacing an ice machine and the new one gets a remote condenser on the roof. Of course, they’ve never done one, and I have to cut the hole in the roof. In fact, I’ll probably be doing all the work, besides “hey, get me this, or that”, “help me pick this up”. I’m not thrilled. This got dropped on me late Tuesday. After we get the equipment delivered and the condenser on the roof, I’ll have to round up materials. If this job wasn’t in my area, I’d just tell the new guys to have at it.

the 788 is down there in size with the Daisy Buck, lol.
Yeah Mike, found that out last night. Pops (current land owner) told me bout it on the phone.
After we got the 2 leaks fixed we only cracked the main open half ways. We;re gonna let it run right there for a couple days to see how it does. If we don't get enough pressure we'll open it a little more. So far, so good.
If I'm being honest, all I'm worried about is getting through this last month on this place. Then I can put my full attention on Killer's.
Pops said that if the regulator turns out to be bad he will send in the pros to replace it. Ray is more like a handy man.

Sounds like the transfer port is leaking. Have you draped a tissue across the breech and fired it. This will let you know if the transfer port isn't sealed properly.

Allowing the barrel to slam like that can cause damage to probably any air rifle. It is a user failure & I am surprised that they are nice enough to cover it under warranty ! I wonder if other manufacturers would offer to do that .
