Keep checking!I am amazed at what I come up with a Google search.Lookie here...I would also check if anything from the Chinese clone would work. -Y
I'm in the same boat, have a wonderful T06 54 that I benchrest with a bullseye mount and scope because of the crappy front sight system that is sub par for ft or off hand shooting. Who wants to shoot a nearly 10 pound gun off hand anyway?I would much rather have a rear diopter and front tunnel sight though. Looking for a solution...
Eric,How about you have a 3-D printer guy make-up a demo for you. Mount it, work out the bugs. Once you have a finished product, take it to a machinest and have him make you 2.Sell one to Artie, for double your cost. Just a thought anyway....-Y
Easiest solution is to have a machinist put a dovetail into the front sight (you eliminate the blade and do the dovetail). You can then put one of the Lyman globes (whether a small one or a large one will define what dovetail you need):I've done half a dozen of these. No rocket science, just need to get the piece to sit firm and square in the vise while you mill the piece. If you choose a Lyman, then Lee Shaver will make any insert you can picture/draft/sketch. If you use one of the "international" sizes, make sure you have a source for apertures. When I launched the 0.20" cal D54's limited run, the "flat" muzzle piece was part of the spec, like this:So, there might be some used out there still. Now, facing the realities of life, with the current crop of LPV scopes at all price points and with all the reticles available, it might be cheaper to put the ZR Mount and then use an LPV scope that suits YOU. With the ZR Mount you do NOT need an "airgun rated" scope, and some of those are dramatically inexpensive as well as interesting.;-)Keep us posted!HM
Any chance you could do another. I could order one from ebay and go by your judgement on the globe size to use, probably small to keep it in a lower profile
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I have a Williams receiver sight tucked in under an Airmax 4-12x40.I just took the scope off and tried a couple of shots at some soda cans and hit them fine. It was getting too dark so came back inside rather quickly. I do have an extra Anschutz 6700(I think thats the model) I may try it on for size tomorrow as I have an adjustable Gehmann iris I can use . In my old age I am getting so that I like peep sights better than scopes, and that Air King Pro just seems to handle better with iron sights.
HECTOR:COULD he get a harmonic tuner and mount the globe sight on the tuner instead of all the fiddling with machine shops etc. Dippling the barrel to put the set screws in a locking configuration. The regular Lyman base would probably fit the tuner body easily??? Or one could just mill a dovetail into the tuner body???Of course the best solution is a ZR base and a decent scope (my Sightrons are working great by the way!! I'm not shooting much as my cataract surgery wasn't quite a slam-dunk and I am very sensitive to bright light. Still working on it.Dave
