I received a new Umarex Octane ,22 yesterday.
I took it out of the box today to see what it is all about.
Observation #1...The thing is a beast! Very heavy.
#2. It takes a lot of force to cock.
#3 I find it very difficult to load pellets...Crosman Premier domed and hollow point... tough to get the heads in the barrel.
#4 Advertised as being extremely quiet......due to oil in a new gun, it diesels very loudly. Only 3 shots so far
#5 Even with the recoil absorbing system, it kicks pretty hard.
#6 The compression tube is very long...akin to the original Octane. That most likely translates to a long stroke gas ram that will not be
replaceable should it fail.
The Octane Premier went back into the box and may be put up on the bay.......
Just my opinion......

You can lead a man to water, but you can't keep him from urinating in it.
