I've been getting lots to go with squirrels that I haven't got. Entilomas are awesome. Sulfur shells, pheasant backs, corals and puffballs

We did a few years ago when living up on the California North coast.
Chantrelles, Bolettes, Masitackhi were abundant in the fall after a couple good rains. So long as we had no freeze it would continue into december most years.
Threw the years we kept track and documented @ 70+ species, positive I.D. on 40+ with @ 5 or 6 worth gathering and eating. Chantrelles were #1 on the hunt-N-seek list !!

Whatever I find in the produce isle at Ramey's Family Grocery. Sometimes it's like foraging in there.

Found some big hemlock varnish shelf fruit bodies. These are called “ling chi” and it is supposed to be good for your immune system and lowers your blood pressure a bit as well. Have to make a kind of tea or soup out of it unless it is a young sprout.
As for eating… chanterelles, morels, oysters and black trumpets are what I end up eating if I’m going to eat a wild mushroom.

When I was a kid, my dad would pick white yard mushrooms on occasion and i always enjoyed eating them. We were taught not to pick out own and eat them.
I never did until i happened upon a few morels on more than one occasion. Game on. They are great.
I would eat other mushrooms found if i knew what I was doing, but I don't. Unfortunately no time to go down that rabbit hole.

Chanterelles, oysters, and Lion’s mane. I find a lot of Lion’s mane while squirrel hunting.
Much easier to clean and prepare than squirrel.

That’s a beaut. I’d cook that up for sure.
Here are some other edibles I found this week - Blewits (99% sure) and Inky Caps

Mushroom (and indeed all wild edibles) ID is one skill that I just haven't had time to develop; so in the shroom department it's morels only for me-and it's been many years since I found any
Unbelievably good eating when you do, though
