2260 - Bodge Build

Hi All - A while ago I was able to source the parts to put together a complete 2260 and literally, it's a pile of parts. I haven't gotten into it yet but while it was still in pieces I was thinking of what mods - if any - I should do. For instance I have an 18" barrel I plan to use and donate the 24" to my 362. (more on that later).
Searching here I found enough to get me in trouble, confused and broke. So that's cool.
Triggers:
I know the Baker Brass upgrade is popular, as is a 2-screw mod. What I haven't seen is mention of the Magnum Air Power kit. It has a new trigger, 3 pins, 2 screws and a spring. For someone with modest skills and tools, making new pins, etc. is just out of reach so this kit looks like a good alternative. Is there any compelling reason I should avoid this kit? I looks to be all of the mods in one kit.
Bulk fill: This begs more research but my CO2 guns are pistols - 357/38T so I'll need cartridges either way but this seems like a gateway to PCP... On hold for now.
2250 tube: I loved the carbine I saw in another thread and it's what spurred me into finding 2260 parts for a build. So thank you to those of you getting creative with stocks & tubes to make some nice, functional creations. Cutting the lumber isn't really something I want to do yet but it's not off the table.
Valves/hammer tuning: There's a lot of discussion about shot count vs wasting CO2 and that's where confusion come in for me. With an 18" barrel, I feel like there's room to tune things to not waste CO2, it just seems smart at that point. I'll have to do more research but a power adjuster would require modding the stock - I'd like to avoid that right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated - a point to threads, etc.
Sights: I'm a fan of having irons on a rifle no matter what but the LPA sight is for a pistol and the notch is quite wide - not ideal for a rifle. I'm looking at fixed peeps and the Williams sights as well. I saw someone using a Tech-Sights model somewhere and I'm familiar with them. The sights for S&W M&P pistols is the same dovetail as the steel breech so I'm looking at other options. The problem there is they're all pistol sights with a wide notch. A real rifle sight would be preferred - this spills over into the 362 & 13XX carbines so again, any ideas or help is appreciated.
Glass: My 362 has a 2-7x32 AO that is my first AO scope. I really appreciate the adjustments there. I use a 4x32 as a standard on my 13XX builds. I have a 4x32 with mil-dot that needs a home - I haven't used mil-dot scopes much but I see the attraction. I use cheap scopes but usually upgrade the rings - Leupold Rifleman 2-pc rings, not the see through, are my choice - $20 a set - hard to beat really, for a 22LR/air gun.
LDC: I lean towards TKO and assembled one using the trail baffle - I have a B&R too. I still haven't settled on one yet. This really is it's own topic - like tires on a truck forum...
Any input/suggestions or lessons learned would be appreciated - thanks for looking.

This is a 2260 stock in its original color:
I stripped the varnish (?) and painted it with Sand something bedliner paint:
It's a Don Cothran PCP tube though, not C02:
This one is a 2260 C02 tube, a Don Cothran with a custom C02 cap:

Oh, I never did use my OEM Crosman 2260 stock.
It's been in one of my gun bags for almost 2 years now.
And I reshaped the grip a bit 'cuz it's too fat and and blocky, therefore uncomfortable, like gripping a 3" x 3" lumber

Rick - While I appreciate your penchant for fine instruments, a space gun is not my thing - I'm more of a "walnut & blued steel" type. The closeness to which form follows your functions borders on art.
I've ordered a MAP Disco, M-rod, etc trigger kit and will start with it. Baker brass is out of stock and no idea when they'll be in. By the time I source the screws and spring I'll have spun my wheels longer than the shipping for the MAP kit.
Now I'll focus on valve/hammer mods for tuning - a balance between power and not wasting air is a goal.

Update:
I've got the MAP trigger kit installed and adjusted to my liking - sorry, no pull gauge to measure - there's a was a weird click/grit before let off but I adjusted that out - thanks for that info found here somewhere.
I put it al together and the valve leaked - I'm guessing it's the cartridge seal but in any case, it will get a full rebuild. I tore it down and put in a spare valve - that held but I have the infamous TP leak so there's that. I counted approx. 20 or so shots before gas ran out.
What is the expected shot count out of one of these rifles?
What are the ways to increase shot count? I recall reading something about cutting the hammer spring down, using a smaller gauge wire spring and/or power adjuster but I can't recall the effect.
Without dropping too much power - there's a balance I'd like to achieve. I'm looking to not waste gas and push the pellets with acceptable velocities.
Any help is appreciated - thanks.
I'm trying to find all the threads I saw once on the topic of de-tuning the 2240/2250/2260 valves - I forgot to bookmark them all. If you can point me to any, I'd appreciate it.
I started searching after I posted the above - found some good info on hammer springs
And then I found the SSG post... Pass me the red and blue pills - I'm going into the rabbit hole...
