Bottom line I wish it was EASY. I am not knocking this site but on another airgun forum site I use you just click a pic off your device, no matter the size, and boom it's posted. I am not the smartest using a computer but have given up trying to post pics on this site. Understand you need a third party host whatever that is. I just wish it was as easy as the other site I use.Question: What would it take to get it to work like that site?
I finally got it figured out in the posting of pictures. When I bring up a picture on my computer in my downloads there is a symbol at the top that gives me options for changing that picture. Among them is to re-scale the photo. When I click on that it brings up two figures. One for width and one for height in pixels. I changed the width figure from 4000 px to 824. That changes the height to 618 and that way I can now post the picture because the total KB's are in the range this site requires. I am not sure you can do this on your computer but you might want to check it out. It makes it much more enjoyable to be able to post pictures along with your posting of text to me.
I despise hosting sites. The biggest issue folks have with posting pics on the GTA is the size limitations. The very simplest way to resize a photo for posting here is to email the photo to yourself. It will resize automatically. For me the next easiest way is to use the snipping tool in Windows 7 and above. You can grab the full size of anything on your screen and save it. It will be well within the limitations.Below is a sample of my full screen right now. As you can see, I pin the snipping tool to my taskbar and it's always just a click away.
The fact that a directly-uploaded photo doesn't appear in the "preview" had me thinking I was doing something wrong. Got it now.
